When I’m not here, I blog at the Reading Room on Oakland North’s web site.
Oakland North is a project of the UC Berkeley School of Journalism, where I am a master’s student learning about cute-sounding web apps like vuvox and Ning, among other things. Our site covers large swaths of Oakland, mostly the northerly and westerly areas that the thinning Tribune and Chronicle can’t fully examine.
Reading Room is about local bookstores, new and old books, and, I’ve decided, the secret lives of librarians. Maybe you, like me, have noticed that all your smartest and hippest friends are getting advanced degrees in library sciences these days. What do they know that we don’t? I’m trained to find out.
